Snow Performance has engineered a water injection system to cool engine temperatures to expect up to approx. 10-20% more power on charged gasolines engines, 15-25% on Turbodiesels and up to 5-15% on naturally aspirated gasoline engines.
SNOW PERFORMANCE - STAGE 1 BOOST COOLER WATER | METH KIT
The gasoline Stage 1 Boost Cooler kit is available for forced induction applications that are either fuel injected or carbureted. Operation is very simple: the system starts injecting when the boost switch reaches the user-adjustable point and it injects a fixed amount of fluid through the nozzle until the switch opens again. This makes it a good choice for low to medium boost setups looking for an octane enhancement and cooler intake charge. Activation can also be set up through any other user-chosen switch, such as a full throttle switch, etc.
SNOW PERFORMANCE - STAGE 2 VC-50 BOOST COOLER WATER | METH KIT (BIG TURBO)
This latest Boost Cooler features a very trick gauge style controller. The "VC-50" is equipped with a dual mode/seven color OLED screen. It reads up to 50psi boost pressure and displays it, too! It also shows percentage of water/methonal injection, low level status, and also secondary nozzle activation directly on the screen.
Unlike other Stage 2 controllers, it can trigger and variably throttle nozzles independently of one another. Set a cooling nozzle (located after intercooler) to spray just after boost hits. Command a second nozzle to add effective octane just before the ECU pulls timing. (This is done from post-throttle body or direct port locations. This sophisticated injection strategy allows for the easiest increases in horsepower and air cooling among water-methonalanol injection systems. The delivery map, however, is hard coded just like other Stage 2 packages. (Semi-custom mapping starts with Stage 3 and is fully tunable in Stage 11 kits.)
