Exhaust Hanger Mid Pipe - MINI Cooper / Base / S / R50 / R52 | 18100392258-HJS

Purchased a set of Exhaust Hangers, Mid Pipe, designed for installation in a MINI Cooper / Base / S / R50 / R52 model. I needed these mid-pipe hangers for my 2013 R58 MINI Cooper Coupe (base model, non-turbo, non-S). It appears that MINI decided that the second generation MINI Cooper models did not need these exhaust hangers, even though the factory still installed the base plate that supports these hangers on the 2nd generation MINIs. I wanted to add support to the long mid-pipe section, which has no support at all from the flex pipe flange connection at the front to the muffler hangers at the rear bumper. I had installed a REMUS axle-back muffler, which is a substantial assembly itself. That long unsupported pipe, which also needed adapters to take the pipe from 1.5" ID to 2" ID to accommodate the REMUS exhaust pipe, was too stressed, in my opinion. It's noteworthy that MINI also deleted the "ears" on the OEM exhaust pipe that would normally fit into these mid-pipe hangers in the 1st generation MINIs. So I adapted two pipe clamps to attach to the mid-pipe hangers - not the best solution, but it'll do until I can have the hangar ears welded to the OEM portion of the exhaust pipe. So it works, the entire exhaust pipe is supported while still allowing for engine vibration movement, and I'm not worried about the exhaust pipe working its way loose and dropping down to the road surface. That'd be bad.
