HARSH CLIMATE FILTER UPGRADE

Explore with confidence while keeping your engine safe on dirt roads, sandy beaches, or anywhere your intake is exposed to nasty contaminants. Using a 3-step approach to combat harsh climates the filter has been increased to 8 pleats, treated with penetrating filter oil, and covered with a pre-filter sock. This offers superior filtration and peace of mind for your intake system when traveling the roads unknown.

IE Harsh Climate Filter Kit is an optional upgrade and sold separately.


PERFECT FIT

Performance intakes with maximized flow potential are limited within the constraints of the factory engine bay. Advanced 3D scanning technology is used to take full advantage of all available space. This digital design space ensures a perfectly crafted aftermarket intake with an exacting installation that exceeds even the factory fit.

VELOCITY STACK

IE's signature velocity stack is built-in to the heat shield and effectively channels the massive amount of airflow from the 5" air filter's surface area smoothly to the throttle body. This results in incredibly low amounts of power-robbing drag and turbulence. This is a function only achieved by the efficient bellmouth shape and not found on traditional "filter on a stick" cold air intakes.


RAM AIR SCOOP

The aluminum heat shield spans the entire length of the front clip, taking advantage of the huge stock grill. This design protects the intake from hot engine bay air while effectively channeling high-pressure air through the grill directly to the engine.

ENJOY YOUR DRIVE

The unique growl of the VR6 engine was an instant enthusiast favorite after the debut in 1991. Sadly, the modern stock airboxes are a plastic compromise resulting in flow-killing restrictions and entirely muted engine notes. Upgrading to our performance-designed intake will remove all these restrictions allowing the engine to breathe happily and produce that amazing and classic sound.



FLOW BENCH TESTING

Our engineering team performs rigorous back-to-back flow rate testing to maximize airflow and validate the design against the factory airbox. Utilizing every inch of available space for a full-width ram air inlet, 5" air filter, and integrated velocity stack this optimized design results in up to 134 CFM increase over stock!

DYNO RESULTS

In addition to flow bench testing, real-world power numbers are achieved using our in-house dyno cells to see the effect the improved flow rate has on horsepower and torque. The testing was performed in controlled conditions on a completely stock Atlas performed the same day back to back. Dyno results show consistent and significant power gains of 17HP & 21 ft-lbs to the wheels!


The above gains are a result of various design details:

  1. The 5" air filter surface area, ram air scoop, and inlet design reduce airflow restrictions.

  2. The internal velocity stack provides a low-turbulence transition from the filter to the inlet pipes.

  3. The full-width heat shield both channels ambient temperature air quickly to the engine and protects the airflow from engine bay heat.
