NOTE: This downpipe version is necked down to fit the STOCK/OEM Catback. If your Aftermarket Catback fits stock downpipes this is the option you will need. If you have custom 2.5" catback connection, please see our non necked down version. Just because the system is 2.5" doesn't mean the connection is. NOTE: AWE Catbacks don't quite line up with factory catback locations so it may require some fitting to fit properly.

** INTEGRATED BAFFLE SYSTEM VERSION **
The Integrated Baffle System Version of our JHM HFC Downpipes w/ X-Pipe is for those who are looking for a quieter exhaust system. The baffles have been designed and strategically located in the downpipes to reduce unwanted drone and rasp (Depending on your catback, results may vary). We used popular exhaust systems for our trials (AWE Touring & Track) along with our JHM Race Pipes and were able to get the interior noise down to just 70db while cruising at 70mph in 6th gear at 2500RPM with the JHM Baffled Downpipes. That is 10db quieter than the AWE Touring and 15db quieter than the AWE Track systems WITHOUT the JHM Baffled Downpipes installed. During our testing, at 70db we heard more road/tire noise than exhaust. Note: The main purpose of the Integrated Baffle System is to combat unwanted drone and take the edge off rasp.

Built as a direct OEM replacement, our JHM Catted Downpipes with X-pipe are easy to install with simple hand tools with no cutting or welding required. Our X Pipe is designed to increase low-end torque and maximize power throughout the entire RPM band. Moving the Catalytic Converters further downstream into the downpipes, we are able to take full advantage of our JHM B8 2.5" Race Pipes and alleviate heat build-up close to the engine, increases Catalytic Converter longevity, as well as overall engine performance.

EXPLANATION OF THE B8-S5 4.2L EXHAUST SYSTEM:
There is a lot of confusion surrounding the B8-S5 4.2L Exhaust System Setup mostly due to the current "brand-x" systems available on the market. The B8 Exhaust can be split up into 5 parts. Starting from the outlet at the cylinder head you have the exhaust manifolds, the cat or test-pipes, the downpipes (this includes the x-pipe on the JHM B8-S5 4.2L Full Exhaust System), and the remaining portion that includes the mufflers that exit at the rear of the car (sometimes this entire section is called the cat-back).
