The 2025 edition of Wookies in the Woods was one for the books! As one of the most anticipated annual gatherings for Volkswagen enthusiasts, this year’s event brought the community back to the legendary Tail of the Dragon for a weekend packed with spirited drives, incredible builds, and unbeatable vibes. For the uninitiated, Wookies in the Woods (WITW) is a grassroots event that began as a dedication to fans of the VW R32 platform—particularly the Mk4 and Mk5 generations—and then moved on to the broader Volkswagen Golf R community. Centered around the scenic and twisty roads of Deals Gap, this event is all about passion, performance, and people. Wookies in the Woods 2025 reminded us why this event remains a cornerstone of the VW community.
