This tool looks simple but it can save significant amounts of time aligning the shifter in your car. It is used in all MK2 Golf® and Jetta® and in 4 cylinder MK3 Golf® and Jetta®. This tool number 3104 also replaces the older tool 3285. Die stamped high grade steel with a zinc finish. Made in USA.

Not entirely sure if it's because my travel stop is a little weird, but the little plastic curved part on the gear shifter lever didn't fit exactly into the little hole on this alignment tool, but it does still work to align the shifter as I used it on mine and its perfectly aligned. No grinding gears! If the lever isn't supposed to actually go into the tool like I thought, then this should be a 5 star review.

I spent hours trying the tape cassette method to align the shifter after installing new bushings. I could not even come close. After using this tool it took one try and 5 minutes. Perfect fit on my 2000 Cabrio 2.0 ABA

I literally looked everywhere for this tool and not even VW them selfs had it either. Uro tuning had it in stock and delivery was hassle free. I would recommend to anybody who owns a fine German machine!

Bushings seemed like they're higher quality than the plastic ones that were originally in the car. The installation is super easy so 100% worth doing this job. Completely removed the slop in the shifter. It feels precise like a brand new car every time I shift.
