High quality replacement for the crappy OE plastic. I didn't notice any burring or deformities in the aluminum shaping. Be careful when installing new hoses to ensure no leaks, as the hoses might fit differently over the smaller aluminum flanges and may be cracked from excessive heat/overheating. Circled in green in the picture, behind the small red hose.

Great kit, all was as described but needed one more connector peice to be a 'complete' kit for replacing all plastic coolant connectors.

Thermostat Housing Cover | Mk4 1.8T | 2.0L (Cast Aluminum)
The outside diameter of the pipe is about 1.5 mm smaller than the OE plastic part, and the barb is smaller. I was concerned that my radiator hose, having been used on the larger diameter OE pipe, would seep coolant. I ended up returning the part.
