The new 2022 Audi RS3 has been sneaking around Northern European racetracks for testing, and the spy shots are finally starting to surface, giving enthusiasts a look at what the newest iteration of the RS3 will look like. The new RS3, seen above in Lambo green, was spotted blazing around the Nurburgring in Germany sporting a partial camouflage wrap - but luckily the photos still reveal some of the body lines and design changes of the new model.

While the overall shape and size of the RS3 remains the same, there are some definitive changes to the aesthetics of the front end we can see in these newly revealed photos. The 2022 RS3 design, rumored to be revealed in the fall, features a new front bumper design with larger air ducts than the typical A3, plus wider fenders, more aggressive side-skirts, and a sportier rear diffuser with large cutouts for the oval-shaped exhaust pipes.

The wheels on this model appear to be nearly identical to the wheels seen on the RS3 sportback prototype. Both of these models are likely to be powered by an upgraded version of the famous 2.5 liter five cylinder engine, and may include a new particulate filter system to help cut down on carbon emissions.

Fans of the Audi RS3 platform will be excited to hear that the new iteration will see a boost in horsepower. The current model which clocks in at 394 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque, will be trumped by the new model which is likely to have closer to 414 horsepower and a 0-60 time of less than 4 seconds. The US can expect to see the 2022 RS3 sedan later this year, but the hatchback RS3 will unfortunately still be exclusively European.
