Famed Hoonigan founder and veteran rally car driver, Ken Block signs deal with Audi in talks of assisting in new generation of Audi electrification. The announcement was made today as Block publicized his separation from longtime partner of 11 years, Ford.
“Audi is the brand that ignited my passion for motorsport,” Block said in a statement. “I am extremely excited to start this new chapter. Together, we will develop innovative projects and push the boundaries of electric mobility.”
Block was invited to Audi HQ in Germany to drive the famed Audi Quattro S1, DTM Audi V8 Quattro, and the Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo. With these legends at the hands of a driving celebrity such as Ken Block, the possbilities are endless, but Audi means business with this deal.
Although Audi has not yet published any specifics of the deal just yet or any collaboration releases, the two are sure to create some attention for the new age of motorsports and autmotovie history.
“Electrification is a game changer, just like Quattro drive once was," Audi Sport GmBH managing director Julius Seebach said in a statement. "With Ken Block, we’ve got exciting things in store that go perfectly with our strategy.”
