With the recent update to the VW Golf GTI, attention has now turned to its all-wheel drive brethren to see what sort of update is in store for the spicy hot hatch. We’ve seen a few camouflaged looks already, but a full reveal is set for June 26th.

VW Sets the Stage for Updated Golf R

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR
Here's a brief list of what we know about the 2025 Golf R:
- A new illuminated VW emblem up front within the lightbar
- Updated headlights and tail lights
- Redesigned front bumper
- Revised larger infotainment screen
- Buttons return on the steering wheel, anti-haptic folks rejoice!
FORGED WHEELS UNLOCKED
Volkswagen has also announced that the Golf R will also see a power bump of 14hp, for a total of 329hp from factory. We’ve also recently heard that there will be an option for 19 inch forged wheels, the Warmenau. With that being said, we eagerly await what news VW will being when it is officially revealed. Hopefully there will be mention of the Golf R Clubsport that we previously talked about. Keep tabs here for when the official announcement occurs.
